Panda Update 4.1 — Google’s Panda New Update — Is Out



Google announced the latest version of its Panda Update — this filter is designed to penalize websites with poor content from ranking well — and has been released.

Google said in a post ( Google+ ) that “slow rollout” will began earlier this week and continues to next week, before it completes. Post said that depending on location, about 3%-to-5% of search will be affected by this.

Something different about this release?

Post says that it is supposed to be more precise and it will allow more high-quality and small and medium-sized websites to rank better. From the post:

Based on user (and webmaster!) feedback, we’ve been able to discover a few more signals to help Panda identify low-quality content more precisely. This results in a greater diversity of high-quality small- and medium-sized sites ranking higher, which is nice.

New Chance For Some; New Penalty For Others

The rollout means websites who was penalized by Panda in the last version has got a chance to emerge. If they have made the right changes in their content. So if you were hit by Panda, made changes in your website, you’ll know at the end of next week whether they were good enough, and you will see an increase in traffic.

It also means that if new sites are not previously hit by Panda it might also get impacted. If you see a sudden traffic drop from Google this week, or in the coming days, then this is latest Panda Update is likely to blame.

Why are we calling it Panda 4.1?

Well, Google itself called the last one Panda 4.0 and deemed it a major update. This isn’t as big of a change, so we’re going with Panda 4.1.
